What is Supervisor Spellman saying?

UPDATE:  1:15 PM  Calaveras County Counsel says that she had ..."no conversations with Supervisor Spellman or anyone else about that statement."
UPDATE:  8:30 AM  The District Attorney says that she has received no such report from anyone.

After many of our readers questioned another of Supervisor Spellman's statements
at the Board of Supervisors meeting, we sent him an email asking for clarification.

We got no response, so after reviewing the video, it appeared that Spellman was saying that someone sitting in the audience had offered him "...not hundreds, but thousands of dollars..." to influence his preferential of understanding?  about what goes on at Lake Tulloch. HUH?
.
If anything like this occurred, (a bribe attempt?) any elected official has the responsibility to report such an attempt at a  to the District Attorney and the County Counsel.

We are waiting to see if this happens. If it doesn't most people we've spoken with believe it was just another statement, like many he makes, without substance.

Why would any elected official make up things like this?

Behavior unbefitting an elected official, such as the "show" of teaching the new Supervisors how to worry about their next election, and quoting Susan Larson in error, definitely makes the newly elected Board members look good!

Debbie Ponte, Chris Wright and Cliff Edson are doing just fine! Keep it up!

How do you believe anything that comes out of Spellman's mouth. He should be forced to come out with the name or be charged with withholding evidence.

What the hell is a "preferential understanding of what happens at Lake Tulloch"?? What does that mean?? Spellman is a fool. Either he was offered a bribe or he was not. He says just enough to disturb the audience but not enough for his feet to bge held to the fire. His implication of a bribe should be investigated by the county. But they won't of course.
