Kris Johnson to run for 4th Congressional District

Kris Johnson, a 25-year resident of Granite Bay, has announced that she will be a candidate for the US House of Representatives in California's 4th Congressional District.

"Over the past several years, I've become increasingly frustrated by how poorly our community has been represented in Congress," Johnson said in a press release.

"We deserve better than a career politician who promotes an extremist, partisan agenda.
We can't keep ignoring the needs of our district's people and the care of cherished resources like Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, and the Stanislaus National Forest."

She goes on to say that "I come from a business background, where working in teams to solve problems is critical. In this past session of Congress, so much time was wasted, and so little work was done. It's sad the Tom McClintock's biggest accomplishment during this session has been successfully calling for a government shutdown that hurt our economy and working families.

We need someone in Congress with a better sense of service to the communities they represent. This what I bring to this race. The 2014 Congressional is our opportunity to get back on track as a land of opportunity and economic prosperity."
