OP-ED .....Calaveras Supervisors Board Rules & Procedures

       by Joseph Kelly

It is my belief, this is the largest compilation of fresh streaming BULL MEADOW MUFFINS I have ever seen!

Encourage broader public participation in local government?  Attempting to change the public's speaking times from 5 minutes to 3 minutes or less in NOT "ENCOURAGING". It is "INTOLERANCE"

It is very apparent, that board members reading of the board's business does not go beyond the limited scope of the CAO restricted staff report information.

No disrespect to staff, they do as they're told. Today's agenda items will give credence to what I express.

We, the people, the electorate of Calaveras County, expect, due to campaign information that caused your election, a person who takes the time to be fully informed, who earns his or her salary by bringing researched information to the table of discussion.

What do we receive, this agenda item says it all, INTOLERANCE!  You don't want to hear the public that stands in line to speak, relate points of information .

NO, you want a speedy board meeting. So you can return to your fun attendance of community events, assigned committees and campaigning on our nickel.

The people, taxpayers, voters want an informed board, not an INTOLERANT, IGNORANT BOARD!

We the attendee's take time to attend, express our concerns, whether you like them or not.

The attendees do not get paid.  Speaking on money (resources), this county is in financial troubles due to the decisions of IGNORANT boards past and present.

My suggestions:  Leave the 5 minute time limit alone.  Change Rule 34 on your list: County Administrative Officer:  Provide ALL information necessary to assist the board members.

Yes, these are County business meetings. Start considering, we the people, as your STOCKHOLDERS!!
