Senate Hearings on US Postal Service--Who uses snail mail?

If you ever get an opportunity to watch CSPAN, do it when the Senate is holding hearings about the Postal Service continuing to lose billions of dollars.

On Wednesday, the committee for Homeland Security and Government Agencies met to discuss what to do about the Post Office.

The discussion from the Democrats was trying to offer an amendment to the Postal Act of last year to allow the Postal Service to increase their rates another 22% by 2015.

Since the USPS is a totally political  agency, with a union workforce (the AWPU) supporting only Democrats, the discussion was naturally biased.

The Amendment was not approved because the Republicans don't think just raising the rates on the monopoly will help save it from bankruptcy. We agree. Even locally, postal workers are now very political, unlike 20 years ago.

During the hearing Republican Tom Coburn said he received an EMAIL from the Chair of the Postal Regulatory Agency, which got a good laugh. Even Postal Workers use email instead of snail mail.

Well, I do remember two mentally ill postal workers, who apparently drink and write letters to editors lying about all kinds of stuff. Made the Sierra Sentinel famous, as I recall. Wasn't one the Bakers, who both work for the post office or did or something. That was totally insane. I heard they were mad because the Sentinel wrote against raising the stamp price. I do know that they donate to Callaway, the biggest democrat in the area.

I thought there were two other mental cases too. Can't remember the names. Used to be the postal workers weren't drunks and mental cases. weren't political either. lost all respect now. I'm against giving them more money. I use email and UPS.

I should feel guilty writing this because I have a relative in the post office, but I smiled when I remembered the one who said they were a witch (or were not a witch) or something. lol

I did hear that the post office is getting rid of many of the nut cases and drunks. But they still have to pay them until they die.

You know of course, that these kinds of people go ballistic when they are in any way insulted. They actually believe they are revered. Boy are they messed up!!

We all discovered that it only takes one or two bad apples to make the entire postal force look bad!! It is sad. It is also true about the Bakers; I saw the donation sheet for Callaway.

This is a MONOPOLY. Is it true the Democrats are trying to get the union another 22%?
