Another change order for Calaveras Jail of $70,000
Yet another change order is on the Calaveras Supervisors agenda for January 28, 2014. This time another $70,000 increase for inspections.

When is the ribbon cutting (opening) of the new jail & Sheriff's office? Is there a final date, yet? No maintenance money budgeted for the new facilities. With staff funding limited to the one time funding source, running down, will the county have to go back to the state with a request to lower the staffing standards to a point of being dangerous? The county can always default, let the state have the new jail. The county can keep the old jail open, if staffing is adequate for the antiquated, deferred maintenance, facility.
