December 23, 2015: As of around 4:15 AM Caltrans is requiring chains on all vehicles without 4 wheel drive east of Cottage Springs on Hwy 4.Be prepared for low snow on Christmas Eve morning, as the National Weather Service says it could reach 2500'. Beautiful White Christmas if you can stay off the roadways.
