CalFire gets giant 747 fire plane--too late for Calaveras Butte Fire vicitms

Now that Calaveras County has been burnt alive, CalFire has decided that fighting fires from the air is the only way to succeed.

In fact, they just received a 747 fire retardant plane, which is now at McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento.  Most of us could have told them before the Butte Fire that the only way to put out a fire early is from the AIR, and immediately!!

So glad to hear this! Way overdue. Heavy air resources should have been called out immediately on the Butte Fire. (The spelling is McClellan)
