We've all seen animals who are abused and often know the abusers. There is nothing worse in our country than a sick wacko who hurts animals in any way.
The Animal Legal Defense Fund is encouraging everyone to voice their support for SB 1024, the Animal Welfare an Violence Intervention Act of 2018.
According to the ALDF, animal abusers are five times more likely to harm humans. Animal abuse is the most misunderstood and under charged crime in our society.
With limited sentencing options, judges have little power to assure proper punishment, psychiatric treatment or education. SB 1024 would give judges the ability to assign proper sentencing.
