According to CHP on December 21, 2020 around 10:10 AM Betty Zimmerman (85) of Murphys
was driving a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire on Vallecito Road in Angels Camp at an unknown speed.For some reason she allowed her vehicle to cross the double yellow lines and Albert R. Tonetti (80) of Murphys, driving a 1972 Chevrolet was unable to avoid a head-on crash.
Unfortunately, Betty Zimmerman did not survive the collision. Mr. Tonetti was flown to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto with major injuries
The road was closed down for an hour and 20 minutes to clear the collision and investigate.
