According to the Calaveras Sheriff, on July 1, 2023 they responded to a call regarding a man having jumped
off the Camp Nine Bridge into New Melones Reservoir.Apparently the man did not surface. Search and rescue has been attempting to locate the man, so far without success.
An investigation is being undertaken by the Sheriff's Office.
