Jordan Joseph Rapetti

   Jordan Joseph Rapetti, a 53 year resident of Calaveras County, went to be with the Lord on August 6, 2016 at his home in San Andreas.

     He was surrounded by loving family,
was 84 years old and had battled Parkinson's Disease for 13 years.

   Jordan was born in Sacramento on February 20, 1932. He attended West Sacramento Elementary School and Clarksburg High School.

   Following 2 years (1952-1954) in the Army, he went to college on the GI Bill, graduating with an AA degree in Auto Mechanics from Sacramento City College.

     He then transferred to Sacramento State University where he received his Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and a teaching credential.

   Later he received a Master's Degree in School Administration from Sacramento State.

   Jordan's first teaching job was with the California Youth Authority at Fricot Ranch School in San Andreas.

   Fricot closed in 1971 and he worked for a few months at Preston School of Industry and then transferred to DeWitt Nelson School in Stockton. He retired after 27 years with the Youth Authority.

   Then he opened a cabinet shop for many years where he produced beautiful cabinets and furniture.

   In 1952 he married his high school sweetheart, Evelyn Barber. They raised three sons and a daughter and were married for 63 years.

   Jordan was devoted to the Lord, his wife and family, his church family and his friends.

   An active church member at San Andreas Community Covenant Church, he helped plan Good Samaritan Covenant Church in Valley Springs.

   He held positions of responsibility in both local churches and the Covenant Denomination as a Pacific Southwest Conference Executive Board and was a Board member of Camping North.

   He loved the people of Alaska and made three mission trips there.  He also loved the fishing.

   In the community, Jordan served on the Calaveras County Board of Education, was active in Pop Warner Football, was a Cubmaster in the Boy Scouts, worked at Turner Park and built cabinets for a Habitat house.

   Jordan is survived by his wife Evelyn, sons Randall (Paula) of Camino, John (Lynette) of San Andreas, Jeffrey (Denise) of Angels Camp, daughter Karyn Dougherty of Angels Camp, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

   Services will be held Saturday August 13, 2016 at 2 PM at San Andreas Community Covenant Church on Treat Avenue in San Andreas.
