Clarence "Smokey" Spreadborough

  
      Clarence "Smokey" Spreadborough was born August 22, 1928
Monterey and moved to Calaveras County where his mother was born. He passed away on August 27, 2016.

   He and his siblings attended the little two room elementary school in Altaville
and Bret Harte High School.

   Smokey a Teamster truck driver for 40 years, starting with Blagen Lumber in the early '50's and then Calaveras Cement until they closed.

   His last employer was Winkler Trucking in San Andreas. Smokey was a longtime member of the Angels Gun Club and a member of Masonic Lodge #33.

   Smokey loved the mountains and enjoyed going to the 'cabin'. To those who knew him he never had a bad day in his life. He will be sorely missed by all his family and friends.

  He is preceded in death by his father Clarence S. Spreadborough, mother Fenetta S. Hamilton, brothers Donald and Ike Spreadborough and sisters Lorene S. Buter and Darlene S. Faull, son Kerry and daughter Karyn S. Thomas.

   He leaves wife Beverly, sister Carol Ledbetter and brother Ron Spreadborough,
granddaughter Nichol Davenport and many nieces and nephews and extended family.
