Angels Camp Police nab Avery resident

   According to Angels Camp Police, early on August 30, 2016 around 2:15 AM an officer from Angels Camp Police made a traffic stop on a vehicle towing a trailer for a faulty light on the trailer and improper mounting of a license plate.

   The driver of the vehicle advised the officer that his drivers license was currently suspended, which was confirmed trough a records check by dispatch.

   Dispatch also advised that the driver had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, which was confirmed with Sacramento County.

   A consent search of the vehicle revealed approximately one-half ounce of methamphetamine, a digital scale, plastic packaging material and several Hydrocodone
pills.

   An interview was conducted with the suspect after reading him his Miranda rights and he admitted that he sells narcotics to his friends.

  The suspect stated that he believes that it is safer for his friends to buy narcotics from him, versus street level dealers that may rob them.

   Owen Robert Thomas, a 53 year old Avery resident, was arrested and transported , then booked into the Calaveras County Jail for allegedly:

   Driving on a Suspended License

   Possession of Methamphetamine

    Possession for Sales, Methamphetamine

   Possession of Hydrocodone

   Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia
