At the Calaveras Supervisors meeting on March 28, 2017 it was announced that April is Alcohol Awareness month and that there would be programs to discourage young people from drinking.
However, it was made clear that most heavy drinkers in Calaveras County are over the age of 65. Some of the Supervisors tended to look downward.
Oliveira has admitted to being a drinking partner of our dead Sheriff Kuntz. We aren't sure of the others now in office. The health department official stated that alcohol is a deadly drug of choice for many.
