According to CalFire, on March 28, 2017 they will be burning the giant piles of trees and brush they have been clearing on the Whittle property, Bear (now Bare) Mountain.
The piles will be lit by helicopters and they say they are monitoring it closely. The Whittles get this done for free to make more open grazing for cows. It's so wet, there will most likely not be a danger, but it is a training exercise.
