UPDATE: Traffic on Hwy 26 in both directions is blocked. The tow trucks are attempting to get to the scene. Avoid the area if possible. Both vehicles are completely destroyed by the fire.
May 16, 2017 at 2:15 PM: The Calaveras Coroner was just notified of a fatal collision on Hwy 26 in Glencoe. Four CHP units are currently at the scene.
Two vehicles reportedly collided and started on fire. One person has died in the collision. Hwy 26 is currently blocked. Fire also spread into the grass on the side of the road.
