May 29, 2017 at 3 PM: Hwy 4 will most likely be crowded with weekend travelers headed home from Ebbetts Pass to the Bay Area for the rest of the evening.
If you do not have to go out, wait until tomorrow to do your shopping, etc. The worst area is Murphys and Angels, because of the traffic signals.
