According to CHP on May 27, 2017 at approximately 11:30 PM Christopher Tilton (42) of Manteca was riding his 1999 Kawasaki KX 250 on Mitchell Mill Road south of Blue Mountain Road on private property at an unknown speed.
As Tilton entered a right hand curve in the roadway, due to speed, he was unable to negotiate the curve and lost control on the motorcycle.
Tilton and the motorcycle traveled under the guardrail of a small bridge and then off an approximate 8 to 10 foot drop to the creek bed below.
As a result of the collision, Tilton sustained fatal injuries. He was located several hours later. The Calaveras Coroner has the body at this time.
Alcohol and or drugs have not been ruled out as a contributing factor in this collision.
