McCarthy era similar to Trump--Roy Cohn ties

   The similarities between the Republican Joe McCarthy's era of attacking people and accusing
them of being communists is acute.

   One of the main ties is Roy Cohn, who was a Democrat but mentored McCarthy, often seen whispering in his ear at Senate hearings.

   McCarthy died in 1957 while still in office, shamed and humiliated. Cohn died in 1986 after mentoring Trump for years. He died of complications from AIDS.
