At approximately 9:30 PM on June 23, 2020 Brandon Maggard (34) of Rio Linda was
driving a 1990 Chevy Corvette on Hwy 26 near Quail Oaks Road in Valley Springs.
On a turn, he lost control and the car overturned landing on its roof and ejecting both Maggard and his passenger Katie Thompson (32) of Valley Springs.
Both were airflighted to hospitals with major injuries. Maggard was arrested for alleged felony DUI.
