How Much Prop 30 Money Goes to Wall Street?

Due to bad investments bets made by the University of California Board of Regents, millions of Prop 30 money earmarked for the UC system will be headed for Wall Street instead?

According to a report written by five doctoral students at the UC Berkeley campus, their investigation shows that the Regents had made many bad investments prior to the 2008 collapse, which led to fees tripling for students over the past decade.

Identified as exotic logic and hedge swaps, this put the UC system in the downstream for revenue, which will have to be paid before the system gets any money from Prop 30 for actual use on campuses.
