Leila Fowler Homicide Calaveras Sheriff # 13/ Diving

         Calaveras County Sheriff's investigators continued the area canvassing of residences in the Rancho Calaveras subdivision today, May 5, 2013.

    Yesterday, they were able to complete fifty percent of the intended canvass area.,  The investigators were tasked with contacting residents in over 300 homes in the overall effort that began on May 4, 2013.

   Dive recovery teams from the Calaveras and Stanislaus County Sheriff's Offices were also deployed to two small reservoirs near the Fowler home.

   This is but one more evidence search and recovery method used to solve the murder of eight year old Leila Fowler, who was found murdered by her step-brother.

   The dive recovery missions lasted throughout the day today.  When asked, the Sheriff said they would not provide information to the public about whether they believe they have found the murder weapon at this point.
