The only elected official to send out a Memorial Day message today was Congressman
Ami Bera, who is actually in the District next to ours.
"On this Memorial Day weekend, I had the honor of visiting our troops that are currently stationed in Afghanistan.
On my visit with our troops and leadership on the ground, I saw a dedicated group of professionals that reflect the very best of America.
We can all be proud of these young men and women in the way that they protect our country and in the image that they portray.
And on this Memorial Day, let's take a moment to remember the hundreds of thousands of men and women that have also represented our great nation. Janine, Sydra and I are so very grateful for their service and sacrifice."
We heard nothing from our own Congressional Representative today.
