Powerhouse Wildfire in Angeles National Forest

   May 31, 2013:  As of 9:55 AM the Angeles National Forest wildfire, which has been named the Powerhouse Fire is
1500 acres and is burning in heavy brush and chaparral.

   The fire behavior is called extreme with long range spotting due to windy conditions. Containment is only 15% at this time.

   The community of Green Valley is no longer under mandatory evacuation. San Francisquitto Canyon Road is closed. Others are open to residents only.

   A Type 2 Fire Incident Management Team took control of this fire at 6 AM today. 600 firefighters are currently assigned to this fire.

   The USFS doesn't believe they will have it under control until June 5! The cause is under investigation.
