On June 9, 2013 at around 5:15 PM Sharlyn Laine (40) of San Andreas was driving her 2000 Suzuki northbound on Hwy 49, north of Union Mine Road in San Andreas. at a stated speed of 55-60 MPH when whe approached the rear of a 2006 Chevy driven by Pamela Desrosier (67) of San Andreas.
The Chevy was traveling at a stated speed of 35-40 MPH, slowing as she approached the cement bridge.
Laine was driving her Suzuki at a speed that prevented her from perceiving and reacting in time to the hazard of Desrosier's slowing speed ahead of her.
As a result, the Suzuki traveled to the right, where it collided with the cement bridge rail. As a result of this impact, the Suzuki spun in an unknown direction and the front end of the Suzuki collided with the front end of the Chevy.
Laine was transported to Mark Twain Medical Center for evaluation. Desrosier was released at the scene.
This collision is still under investigation. Alcohol/drugs are not believed to be a factor in this collision.
