Chain Control on passes- Wet weather in Sierras

UPDATE at 8:30 AM:  Chains now required at Cottage Springs on Hwy 4.

UPDATE:  6 AM: Chains are now required at Tamarack on Hwy 4.

October 28, 2013:  Hwy 4 is closed at the Mt Reba turnoff in Alpine County. In Amador County,
especially on Hwy 88 at Hams Station, chain control began around 1:30 AM.

About 3:15 AM chain control began in Tuolumne County. Use extra caution in the Mother Lode and Sierra Nevada communities today, as the roads are slick and it will take more time to stop.
