Armed Robber still at large in Calaveras County

   UPDATE:  According to the Calaveras Sheriff's Office, this person approached a female at gun point who was opening a business.

    The suspect asked the victim to empty her pockets and place all of her personal items into a black duffle bag.

   Then the suspect proceeded to ransack the business and took an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect then exited the business and ran through an empty field towards Main Street.

   West Point Elementary School was locked down temporarily while the Sheriff's Department checked the area.

       According to a Calaveras Sheriff's September 2, 2014 press release, at approximately 8:35 AM today, a male subject described as being in his early 20's, approximately 5'6" with blue eyes,
robbed a local business at the 2200 block of Hwy 26 in West Point at gunpoint.

   He was last seen wearing a ski mask with a black skeleton bandana, a long sleeved black shirt (possibly Underarmor brand), black sweatpants and black shoes.

   The weapon used was an unknown black handgun. He left on foot at around 8:40 AM. He is considered to be armed and dangerous. They are asking the public to avoid the area if possible.
