If you break down near Kirkwood...

   If you travel up Hwy 88 to Kirkwood and break down with your vehicle blocking the highway, you may be in for a long wait for a tow truck.


   Around 10: 30 PM last night a man called CHP that he was broken down on Hwy 88. A CHP officer showed up at 11 PM and had a tow truck dispatched, reporting that the party was fine and comfortable.

  At 1:17 AM a CHP officer was asked to check on the party in the vehicle, as a series of tow trucks had been requested, but were unable or unwilling to respond.

   Finally, at 2 AM the party was transported to Kirkwood by either an officer or another private party. At 2:45 AM it is indicated that someone was apparently towing the vehicle to Kirkwood.

   That is 4 hours after the vehicle was first reported as a traffic hazard on Hwy 88.  The final entry says it is being routed to the tow officer for review.
