John Ferreira of Angels Camp--Railroad Worker

   John J. Ferreira of Angels Camp died December 24, 2014 at his residence in Angels Camp. He was 86.

   John was born December 9, 1928 in Santa Clara. He was an employee of Southern Pacific Railroad for 42 years in the Maintenance of Way Department.

   He was a member of the Angels Gun Club for 21 years.

   John is survived by his wife of 32 years, Barbara Ferreira of Angels Camp; son David (Jenny) Ferreira of Heber City, Utah; daughter Terry Ferreira of Pueblo, Colorado; step children Mark Horsley of Mountain View; Sally Ann Horsley/Luker (Vic-deceased) of Los Gatos; and Bonnie (Chuck) Higgins of Santa Rosa, and Carmen Bettencourt of Gilroy; brothers George, Henry, Richard and sisters Alice (John) Demarco; Emilia (Algino) Gonsalves, all of Santa Clara, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

   He had 4 grandchildren and four step grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.

   Graveside services  will be held Friday January 2, 2015 at 11 AM at Altaville Protestant Cemetery in Angels Camp.
