James Kane of Angels Camp

   James Edward Kane passed away at Sonora Avalon Care Center on December 3, 2014 at the age of 87.

    He was born on June 29, 1927 in
Hughson to Albert and Myrtle Kane. After graduating from high school in 1945, he joined the Merchant Marines for a two year stint.

   Shortly after going to work for PG&E, he was drafter into the Army and sent to Germany as part of the occupational forces for two years.

   After his military service, he went back to work for PG&E building sub-stations and married the Conyers, to whom he was married 61 years.

   He ultimately retired from PG&E as a hydro-generation maintenance electrician after 40 years.

   He was an avid San Francisco Giants fan and loved his garden and his large family. He loved working in his garage shop and could repair any broken item that crossed his bench.

   He is survived by his wife Betty of Angels Camp and sister, Joy Burch of Rancho Cordova, his children Mike (Desalee) of Turlock, Rick (Karen) of Oakhurst, Jim (Robin) of Angels Camp, Ed (Carolee) of Angels Camp and June Botto (Leo) of Oakdale.

   Grandchildren include Mark Lynch, Erin and Chris Botto, Joel and Bryan Kane, Scott Soracco, Rachelle, Kyle, Ryan, Katie and Austin Kane, Sam Lewis, Krystal Sodykov, and Kelly Kane Chenowith.

   Great-grandchildren include Maddie, Colton, and Nate Kane, Reagan and Levi Hodges, Greyson Sodykov and Jackson Chenowith.

   Jim's sense of humor and dedication to family will be greatly missed.

   Services will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 11 AM at Angels Memorial Chapel.  Graveside service will follow at Buena Vista Cemetery.

   Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
