Angels Camp Police release info on Bret Harte threat

   According to Angels Camp Police on January 29, 2016 at approximately 9:20 AM, they received information from Bret Harte High School staff regarding a possible threat to shoot students on campus.

   The threat was received through third-party information and no specific students or faculty members were named in the threat.

   The campus was immediately placed on lockdown.  Units from Angels PD, Calaveras County Sheriff's Office, CHP and CalFire law enforcement searched the campus and found it to be safe and clear.

  Students and staff were accounted for and notified it was safe to return to their normally scheduled day at 10:40 AM.

   The Angels PD says it takes any safety threat of our school campuses and students seriously.  Officers are conducting interviews with potentially involved parties.
