Another vehicle chase and CRASH

   According to the Calaveras Sheriff's Office, on January 28, 2016 around 3:25 PM, a Calaveras County deputy observed a white van parked at Froggy's Auto Wash
and Lube on south Main in Angels Camp.

   The business was closed at the time and when the deputy attempted to make contact with the driver, he repeatedly revved the engine prior to fleeing the area at a high rate of speed.

      The deputy pursued the vehicle southbound on Hwy 49 when the driver lost contro near Carson Hill, causing the vehicle to roll onto its side.

   The driver refused to exit or unlock the van.  Angels Camp Police and CHP arrived on scene and assisted in forcing entry into the vehicle and placing the driver under arrest.

   The driver, later identified as 55 year old David Muhammad of Pleasanton, received minor injuries in the collision and was transported to an area hospital for precautionary reasons. 

   Charges will be filed against David Muhammad Hunter, according the Sheriff's Office, with the DA's Office for Evasion of a Peace Officer and Resisting Arrest.
