Carjacking suspect arrested

   According to the Calaveras Sheriff's Office, on the evening of April 13, 2016 the suspect of the carjacking in San Andreas was arrested by the Reno Police
Department while driving the stolen vehicle.

   The carjacking occurred on April 11, 2016. The primary suspect, per the report, is Christopher Morrison of Manteca and is also alleged to have committed assault with a deadly weapon during the carjacking.

   The Calaveras County Sheriff's Office is coordinating with the District Attorney's Office and Reno Police Department to further investigate and prosecute this case locally in addition to the stolen vehicle charge that Morrison is facing in Reno.

   The Sheriff's Office had recent contact with Christopher Morrison when he was incarcerated at the Calaveras County Jail, released on April 5, 2016, after being arrested several days prior in Angels Camp for an outstanding out of county warrant and possession of stolen property (stolen vehicle).

   This case is active and currently being investigated by Sheriff detectives.
