Details on Hwy 49 pursuit--Great job in two counties!!

As we reported yesterday, November 15, 2018 around 1:17 pm, per the Calaveras Sheriff, dispatch received a report of a robbery at the CVS Pharmacy on Main Street in Angels Camp.

Two males reportedly had been loitering in the store, then jumped the pharmacy counter and grabbed medications before fleeing.

Identification of the vehicle was given to law enforcement, who saw and attempted to stop the suspect vehicle at a traffic signal.

The grey Honda failed to yield and a check revealed it was a stolen vehicle from Lodi. Deputies pursued the vehicle on Hwy 49, leaving Angels Camp and it continued west of Calaveras County.

At 1:51 PM CCSO dispatch was informed by CHP that the vehicle was disabled using spike strips in San Joaquin County on Hwy 12 near Clements.

One suspect was immediately taken into custody and the other fled on foot to a nearby orchard.

CCSO deputies responded to the area, assisting CHP and other law enforcement, but the second subject was not located and is still at large.

30 year old Ricardo Vasquez-Moreno of Lodi was arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Jail on charges of alleged Robbery, Criminal Conspiracy and Vehicle Theft.

His bail is still pending. The investigation is still ongoing. If you have information you are asked to call the Angels Camp Police at 736-2567.
