Calaveras County Becoming More Moderate....

   ...Just Like the Country!

If you judge by yesterday's election, it has become clear that sweeping out the Supervisorial seats of Tofanelli and Tryon,
replacing them with liberal Supervisors, changes the entire climate of the Board of Supervisors.

There will be no more close votes, as Edson, Ponte and Wright were the three who teamed up with the TOT non-profits and environmentalists, which put them over the top.

The only conservative left on the Board of Supervisors is now Darren Spellman, and nearly everyone we've talked to believes if someone moderate and sensible runs against him next time, he will be out too.

Nationwide, it seemed like the voters were trying to say something about the extremists and the blocking of anything getting done across the country.

Republicans need to go back to the drawing board, and they should start with their PLATFORM!

Tofanelli's problem was he tried to play both sides. It caught up with him.
The Sentinel was right about him being the only statesman, but it came too late.

I think the Republicans have to decide if they are going to support the church's takeover of the government or represent the people, the majority whom are very moderate, and don't want religion running the government.

Our secularism makes it IMPOSSIBLE for Religion to take over the country. The most Republicans would have acheived is to protect religion from increasing Progressive government attacks on religion. Unfortunately it's tough to get the truth out with an overwhelming Progessive mainstream media.

Cliff Edson is no liberal. Don't think Ponte is either.

Give me a break. Of course they are liberals. No fiscal conservative would ever sign on to a tot tax for non-profits.
