UPDATE at 8:45 AM: Traffic is backed up including television news cameras with no way around the accident.
October 10, 2013: At approximately 7:48 AM a fatal traffic accident occurred at Hwy 12 and the
Mokelumne River, on the San Joaquin County side. Four CHP are assigned to the scene.
This was a head-on collision involving big rig vs a silver pickup near the bridge. The highway is completely blocked in both directions and the fully loaded big rig needs to be towed to the evidence yard after the investigation.
A red Honda Civic is also stuck out in the grass area and needs a tow.
