December 4, 2013: While the Angels Camp City Council quickly moved last night to rescind their Resolution making Kirby street, (a dirt driveway) an official City street, it was not without notice to voters.
In September, when Bob Menary came to the City Council asking for them to make Kirby,
a dirt driveway, a City street, they passed it; because this is Bob Menary, a friend of the Council's and Anne Forrest.
Over two weeks ago, an attorney representing the other property owners (actually the only property owner of that driveway) to rescind the Resolution, there was quite a discussion.
Bob Menary stated that he has legal access to Kirby and that the property owner up from him has blocked his access.
But did Menary tell the truth? Does he have deeded access to Kirby, driveway or whatever?
Apparently not, because last night the City Council, after a Closed Session on the issue, quickly voted to rescind the resolution and Kirby street is now back in private hands.
This is an example of the inept capabilities of our elderly City Council, who comes to the meetings every two weeks, and pretty much does whatever their City Manager or Anne Forrest tell them to do.
We need City Councilmembers who are alert enough to realize they are being HAD by certain people who should have NO control over our City or its Council.
Now they are in hot water (finally) over their "special" rules they made for George Fry back when he used to speak at Council meetings. Out of the frying pan and into the fire.

It appears that the Council does read the Sentinel. But they are always one step behind the voters. We need local people to run for office and get rid of the new element who don't even seem to get how they are being manipulated by McHatten and certain other newcomers or don't care.
OH, they read the Sierra Sentinel all right, but they don't like it one bit! They only want nice things written about them, but then they do things like this.
the new element thinks the old timers are dumb. We need to prove that we are not dumb and throw them out of office.

Yeah, well we all get mad and talk big and then these people easily get re-elected cause no one does anything.
