UPDATE: We heard back from the Mayor Pro-Temp of Jurupa Valley, who told us that they do not actually want to dis-incorporate. Because of the amount of time required in the process if they are forced to dis-incorporate, they are begrudgingly, starting the process now.

The City of Jurupa, a city with 97,000 residents, is beginning the structure of dis-incorporating in the face of losing millions in DMV fees to safety realignments in the state.
If it follows through, it will be the first city in California to dis-incorporate in 40 years.
