From the Merita Callaway Campaign

"I am truly gratified with the number of votes I received in the June primary, but now it is time to focus on the November 4, 2014 final election," stated Merita Callaway
as she began Phase Two of her effort to be re-elected as the Calaveras County Supervisor for District 3.

"The election process is long and difficult for the voters, as well as the candidates.  I want to be sensitive to the wishes of the people who live and work in our district.

I pledge I will not engage in slate mailers, where candidates can buy endorsements or robocalls, which are an intrusion.

And I will limit the number of signs posted on my behalf," she said.

Callaway announced she is having only one major fundraiser, to be held Sunday, Sptember 21, 2014 from 3 to 6 PM at Brice Station Vineyards 3353 E. Hwy 4 in Murphys.

For a $25 contribution, attendees will dine on assorted appetizers, be treated to a glass of fine wine, and be entertained by three popular local musicians; Bill Welles, Fred Treece and Sammy Leverone.  Juggler Erin Stephens will also be on hand to add to the festivities.

During the event there will be the opportunity to bid on a wide variety of silent auction items ranging from fine art and gift baskets to a plane ride and adventure tour.

Bidders will also have several chances to become pampered, wine and dined, or to take home a prized gift certificate.

Sue Friedman is coordinating the sale of tickets.  She can be reached at 728-8183.

"Election campaigns are expensive," comments Callaway.  "To adequately get one's message across takes money.

I hope those people who want to see me continue to serve the district will join us at Brice Station.  I promise there will not be long speeches, just a bunch of friends and neighbors having a good time."

I guess you have to look at the other choice; then its easy to see that Callaway should easily win re-election. Just look at all the trouble that mustache guy is in.
