Hwy 50 Closed again--King Fire

Difficult to look at, cattle do not know
how to run from a fire like some of
the wild animals. All kinds of animals
are tortured and killed when a
fire comes through.
UPDATE:  We just learned that the USFS has increased the total acreage burned as of 6:30 AM on September 18, 2014 at 70,994 with still 5% containment.
The cause of this fire is still under investigation.

This is on their official website for incidents. How can the acreage jump like that? We had just been informed of the 28,000 acre figure.  We are hoping this is an error. This is beginning to seem like another Rim Fire.

Hwy 50 is closed again today due to the King Fire. It is now 28,000 acres and still only 5% contained.

Sadly, ranchers appear to have abandoned their cattle, including calves, in the El Dorado National
Forest.
