UPDATE at 9:45 PM: After reaching the downed airtanker the fire crew unfortunately found that the pilot
had died in the crash. A press conference is scheduled for 8 AM on Wednesday October 8, 2014.
UPDATE: Daniel Berlant of Cal Fire just confirmed that the airtanker has crashed. The other tanker
on the fire was grounded immediately. Fire crews are working their way through extremely difficult terrain to determine the condition of the pilot.
Cal Fire has just notified us that an air tanker flying over a fire near Yosemite National Park is missing this afternoon.
Assigned to the Dog Rock Fire near Yosemite's Arch Rock the status of the aircraft and the pilot have not yet been determined and radio response is not being received.
