The Vallecito Music Boosters was a wonderful group of people who wanted to make sure children experienced playing a musical instrument at a young age.
According to a Press Release, "Due to budget cuts in the schools, reduction in music programs and declining parent volunteerism, the Boosters are donating $10,000 to the Calaveras Arts Council's Artist Scholarship Program so that their mission to support and encourage Calaveras youngsters to learn, develop and grow their music interests and appreciation can continue."
The surprising part of this is that they had $10,000 in the bank! If a 501c3 goes out of business they must donate their remaining funds or supplies to another 501c3 by law.
