Calaveras County's nemesis--Resolution 07-242

Tryon's 40 acres and a mule.
UPDATE:  Supervisor Callaway recommended and got approval of this project by the BOS at the December 9, 2014 meeting,  overruling 07-242.

However, due to Resolution 07-242, the Planning Commission rejects every project under 40 acres per home, therefore forcing
the property owner to pay for an appeal to the BOS for possible approval in Calaveras County.

This one is in Murphys. Of course, this means that Mr. Snowden gets no mule!
********
Since 2007, Resolution 07-242, which was at one time changed from a law to a suggestion, has caused nothing but loss of income, property value and caused Calaveras County to be in a much deeper recession than most of the country.

It is again on the agenda, as # 15 December 9, 2014 at the Calaveras Supervisors meeting, with another killed attempt to build a home on less than 40 acres.

Known as "Forty Acres and a Mule" and named and created by ex-Supervisor Tryon, it helped his family land, but hurt most everyone else's.  The nemesis of Calaveras County.

This is so true! That's why tryon lost his re-election bid.

That's not the only thing Tryon gave the residents of Calaveras County. Tryon gave us FEMA September 5, 1990.

Today, the BOS approved the two lot and a remainder project to go forward. Callaway commented that Resolution 07-242 allows for looking at the merits of the project. The project is in district 3. It was a majority vote of approval.
There was applause from the public in attendance.
