UPDATE: The deer has been despatched and moved off the highway for Caltrans to pickup.
December 2, 2014 at 8:15 AM: An injured deer has been reported to CHP on Hwy 4 near Avery Sheep Ranch Road in Avery.
Use extra caution in that area until CHP arrives on the scene. And spend the $10 for deer whistles on your front bumpers. They really do save lives; yours and the deer.
