Letter to the Editor: Candyrock gun range

   Dear Sierra Sentinel:

I'm asking you to please protect me and my family by not revealing my name. You at the Sierra Sentinel know why better than anyone how dangerous it is when the Candyrock people know who you are.

If the Stanislaus National Forest heads continue to allow these few people to threaten, harass, and I feel abuse other residents who disagree with them, it only hurts the National Forest Service's reputation, as you and I have discussed many times.

I don't live in the Canyon View neighborhood but I have a friend there and know what they go through when the Candyrock gun club, or whatever they call themselves, have a get-together.

Although most regular citizens are terrified to even go down there for any reason, I have gone down after a bunch of people with guns have left.

I also am a shooter, but in a legally recognized club.  I have found trash, liquor bottles, signs of them using it as a bathroom, shells, and it is disgusting. I don't know what the forest service plans, but something has got to be done.

   Glad I don't live near Candyrock--Arnold resident
