SPI slash burnpile causes fire at Hamm's Station

On Thursday, December 11, 2014 a storm was headed for the Mother Lode, but before it could arrive a large slash pile that SPI was burning from one of their clear-cutting campaigns, got out of control off Hwy 88 at Hamms Station.

Firefighters quickly arrived and limited the fire to about 15 acres and at least one outbuilding. Fortunately the rain started and extinguished the remaining fire.  Is SPI paying for all the resources for the fires they cause?
