Frances Ann Duguay of San Andreas

Frances Ann Hunt (Zwinge) was born to Eldon Alson and Marguerite May Hunt on October 12, 1936 in Chico.

Frances didn't like her birth given name and preferred to be called Ann. She moved to San Andreas
with her family, attended San Andreas Elementary School and Calaveras High School, graduating in 1955.

Ann met the love of her life, Wilbert Duguay while working as a waitress in a local cafĂ© in San Andreas. They married in June of 1955.

Ann also worked at a title company for a short time before starting their family.

Ann and Wilbert raised four kids, Cynthia, Janie, David and Katherine while Wilbert worked at the Calaveras Cement Plant.

Ann worked for many years at the San Andreas Elementary School as a yard duty monitor; also babysat and was a caregiver to elderly clients in town, to help support her family financially.

Ann showed great pride in making her home a warm and loving environment for her family and friends.

Wilbert and Ann were very involved with the San Andreas Fire Department. Ann loved Christmas because she was able to volunteer for the Santa Express. She loved being able to hand out toys and food to local families who were having hardships at the time.

Ann always made Christmas a big celebration for her family; she enjoyed planning trips to the mountains to collect holly berries for Christmas arrangements.

Ann loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to visit and spoil her kids and grandkids every chance she got.

Some of Ann's hobbies were shopping, garage sales, having garage/yard sales, taking Sunday drives, visiting family members for the weekend, picnics and being near lakes and going to Lake Tahoe and Reno.

Wilbert and Ann would make family vacations centered around Lake Tahoe every summer. Us kids would  have fun swimming, golfing, going to beach parties and movies, while Dad and Mom would be getting food and our other needs taken care of, whatever the need was at the time.

Ann's choice of her spiritual needs were met at the San Andreas Covenant Church where she attended periodically throughout the years.

Over the years Ann has suffered many health challenges which required her to have 24 hour in home care giving, so her wish to stay at home could be fulfilled.

Ann fell and sustained a serious neck and hip injury at the end of October 2015. Ann was not able to recover from the neck injury and died from complications arising from the neck injury.

Ann went to be with her Lord and Savior Peacefully on January 7, 2016, and was surrounded by love and support from her family.

She is survived by her three children; Janie (Tom) Hamblin of Mt. Vernon, Washington; David Duguay of Mt. Vernon, Washinton, Kathay (Ron) Hoiland of Waterford; grandchildren Nathan (Corinne) Hamblin of Snohomish, Washington, Michael Hamblin of Mt. Vernon, Washington, Patrick Duguay of Mt. Vernon, Washington, Jason Hoiland of South Lake Tahoe and Miranda Hoiland of Waterford; great-grandson Jase Hamblin of Snohomish, Washington.

Ann is also survived by a brother David and sister Dorothy, along with numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eldon and Marguerite, husband Wilbert and daughter Cynthia.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday January 16, 2016 at 11 AM at People's Cemetery in San Andreas.
