US Forestry does not put their fires our right away like Cal Fire does. They treat them somewhat as "controlled burns" taking advantage of the fire to clear the area. Cal Fire gets them out as fast as possible. US Forestry and Cal Fire fight fires differently. US Forestry fires often are not near towns or housing.
