Tamarack Fire grows

Firefighter are seeing fire on both sides of the
road in Markleeville and are attempting to save
as much of the town as they can.

    As of July 19, 2021 at 10 AM the Tamarack Fire in Alpine County has grown to

23,078 .  Containment is still 0%.

   The perimeter line around Markleeville is being maintained. No flights have been allowed and total acreage is still not clear.  

   A damage assessment team is headed for the fire area to count damaged and destroyed homes.
