UPDATE: As of 1 PM the Salt Fire near Copperopolis is 50 acres and is reportedly only 5% contained. Forward progress has been stopped, per CalFire.
As of 11:30 AM on September 5, 2012: Firefighters are now batlling the Salt Fire, at Hunt Rd and Spring Valley Rd. reported at 9:30 AM on September 5, 2012, just north of Copperopolis, was apparently started by lightning, and is now 40 acres.
